Nathan Jacques is no stranger to a life of free-spirited wandering—but for today, we catch up with him at The Mint in Los Angeles, California. Originally from Massachusetts, Nathan’s Nashville-inspired sound currently finds its roots in the American west, drawing inspiration from his love of classic western films and a gritty performance style. His nostalgic music videos feel more like full-length movies, complete with adventure, love, and of course—a few bad guys.
In conversation with Marilyn, Nathan shares more about the process of pressing vinyl, his philosophy on DIY music video direction, and the age-old question: can a country artist find a home in LA?

Keeley Bumford, known professionally as Dresage, rarely has a free minute to reflect on just how much she’s already accomplished as an artist, singer, songwriter, performer, composer and, most recently, producer. But her traction speaks for itself: she’s amassed millions of streams on Spotify (for both her solo and production work), landed sync placements in critically acclaimed shows, and collaborated with producers like Jai Wolf and AG. Most recently, she produced the song “rage” for DEZI, which quickly racked up thousands of views after a viral moment on TikTok.
Marilyn had the opportunity to sit down with Keeley to get the stories behind her incredible career, including a sync placement on Better Call Saul, the imperfect journey into music production and her life-changing awakening as a queer woman.

Finnegan Bell, known to the world as Love Ghost, always knew he wanted to defy genres. He describes his own music as a combination of rock, grunge, metal and emo—influenced by everyone from Kurt Cobain to Rihanna (who he hopes to share the stage with someday, as you’ll find out in this episode). But what really sets Love Ghost apart from his contemporaries is the marketing strategy he employs for his music, including a viral music video made popular by his growing fanbase in Latin America.
In today’s episode, Marilyn chats with Finn about his current content strategy, emphasis on mental health, and the incredible (true) story of his first million views on YouTube.

Known for her alt-rock anthems and killer stage persona, artist and songwriter Annabel Lee is a standout in LA’s local scene. Born in New England, where she first spent time honing her electric stage persona, she eventually migrated west to perform on popular stages like Hotel Cafe and The Echo. But perhaps what she is most known for are her multi-media concert events, incorporating elements of opera, short films and theatrics.
As you’ll learn in Marilyn’s conversation with Annabel Lee, it takes a village to bring these ideas to life, in combination with clever collaborations and a little determination. Join us as we chat songwriting process, Annabel’s relationship to social media, and the benefits (and drawbacks) of life in LA as an independent artist.

Born in raised in Henderson, Nevada, producer and musician CoCo Jenkins is the founder of Nothing To Do in Las Vegas (NTDLV), a popular entertainment industry calendar recommended by nearly every Vegas local in the scene. Starting out as a passion project, CoCo has since grown her community to well over 50,000 followers across platforms like Facebook and Instagram, and recently expanded the NTDLV brand into new categories, like her food blog, NTDLV Eats.
Just hours before sitting down for this interview, CoCo was invited by presidential hopeful Kamala Harris to attend her Las Vegas rally, an experience she later shared with her NTDLV following. Marilyn chats with CoCo about all things Las Vegas, her days as a music teacher, and how a now-infamous local music festival almost got her in trouble with Goldenvoice. Enjoy!

When Sabrina Seidman (known by her producer name, SEIDS) first started posting Logic Pro tutorials on TikTok in 2020, she was looking for a sense of community in a newly-digital world. In just a few years, she would amass a quarter of a million followers across her social channels, in addition to lucrative partnerships with companies like Apple and Splice. Now, SEIDS (music creator, producer, singer and songwriter) has published courses, classes and hundreds of free videos aimed at helping turn anyone (yes, that means you) into a self-sufficient music creator via strategic sponsorships with music tech brands.
On this episode of the Buy My Merch Podcast, SEIDS sits down with Marilyn for a deep dive on her artist journey, creative motivations and how she built her very own (powerful) corner of the internet.

For Satellite Citi, spending a night on stage at Hollywood's infamous Whisky-a-Go-Go with a spacesuit-clad guitarist and bass player is just business as usual. Originally, husband and wife Anna and Shaunt Sulahian started Satellite Citi as a duo—Anna on drums and vocals, and Shaunt on lead guitar. As they evolved, their story-filled music videos paired with a solid rock foundation kept their fan base coming back for more. Today, they're known for continuously pushing boundaries as an independent project.
In today's episode, Marilyn chats with Anna and Shaunt about the origin story of the band, how they filmed and edited their own stop-motion music video, and how mental health impacts their view of the music industry.

She's since released several singles and music videos under the moniker 'Dree Mon.' In 2020, at the onset of the pandemic, Dree quickly adapted by shifting her live performance schedule to Twitch, building a channel that she has since grown to a community of over 5,000 fans.
In today's episode, Marilyn chats with Dree about her early days in the entertainment industry, how she made the pivot into music, and all things Twitch (including her gear setup and favorite plug-ins).
